The mission of Club DEB is to inform, encourage and inspire Christian women through informative Clubcasts, inspirational minicasts, and our Weekly Radio Show. Every Friday a Club DEB panel and I discuss real topics for real women. We cover a variety of topics and are not afraid of controversy or debate. All shows begin with our 10-minute Weekly Rap Session, and you just never know what topic the panel will engage in then!

On the recorded Clubcasts show, I interview an expert on the topic of the month and we discuss that topic in detail. In contrast, minicasts are short but inspirational podcasts that are meant to offer you food for thought.

What’s In a Name?

Why Club “DEB” when my name is Judy? Club DEB is named after three very special ladies.

‘D’ is for Diane. Diane is my sister’s daughter who was born 10 days after my son. Diane has two children of her own now; one is an adorable little boy named Colin. Colin suffers from Smith-Magenis syndrome. Although Colin is very precious to Diane, the Smith-Magenis does create many challenges for her. Yet continually I see her lean on God and look to Him as her source of strength.

The ‘E’ in Club DEB is for my niece, Elizabeth. Elizabeth gave birth to a set of twins but sadly, due to a syndrome called Twin to Twin Transfusion syndrome, sweet little Evan was born into the arms of Jesus that day. No loss can be as hurtful as the loss of your baby, and I have seen the hurt in Elizabeth’s heart. However, I have also seen her faith in God and how it has kept her throughout the most difficult times.

Because the purpose of Club DEB is to offer information as well as inspiration to women, it seemed appropriate to include these two young women in the name of the club. I hope their testimony of faith encourages you as it does me.

Oh yes, last but certainly not least, there is still the B. The ‘B’ in Club DEB is for my daughter, Brenda. She and her brother are God’s special gift to me and for them I will always be grateful.
